I’m here 7000 ft. above sea level in Mexico City working with a team to rebuild a once orphanage turned into a sex-trafficking shelter called “El Pozo.” Within a few weeks, 6-8 Mexican girls will be situating themselves in these once dusty rooms. These girls spent years under the control of someone else, being forced to engage in sexual transactions everyday.
If you would like to follow on what El Pozo is doing please follow their blog.

Freedom and Fashion was pleasantly surprised to pick up Kristinit’s clothing line. Her designs are unique and keeps us excited to style for our next photo shoot!
Freedom and Fashion is revealing exclusive “Love Bunnies” in its new product line at the 5th annual Talent 1 Media Film Festival June 18th and 19th which will take place at the Japanese American Cultural & Community Center in Los Angeles, CA. The “Love Bunnies” were originally designed and created by Freedom and Fashion members, Rea Kim and Carol Shih, who were inspired by the metaphor of taking innocent bunnies and imbuing them with sexual overtones, such as that of the Playboy Bunnies.
The bunnies will be limited-edition for this launch and are 2.5” tall, made of fair-trade wool felt by our partners,Made in Mongolia, and will be donning various outfits of the country they are representing, which have high incidences of slavery (North Korea, India, Thailand, Mongolia, Africa). Freedom and Fashion is sewing love, innocence, and justice back into the lives of the enslaved, to raise for their 2nd annual fair-trade fashion show later this year, which will showcase affordable fair-trade fashions from our partners to prove that conscious consumerism is not out of reach.

The room was filled with anticipation as people started coming into the doors of Ackerman Grand Ballroom on UCLA’s campus. From the backstage AVEDA hair+make up team, to the models, all of production team, volunteers and staff were ready to make this event a success. And it was. The models strutted their stuff as they blended in the backdrop of music most appropriate for the lines. With a combined total of over $6,000 in non-profit organization / fair-trade company profits that night, we’ve helped more people than expected! Thank you to all of our sponsors, donors, volunteers and supporters! If you would like to read an in-depth report on the night, feel free to visit the Media/Press section and read an article or watch a video on what happened.
