Castles in the Sky

It was in that space between time zones that I hovered miles above uncertainty. Below, rested a ground of water hard enough to do more than wake us from our peaceful slumber; if the engine decided to stop, a sea of panic stricken images will have met the unfriendly chill of the pacific. Or, less dramatic—some lush meadow grids speckled with simple farmers here and there. Who knows.

I decided to take a peek. Timidly, I pushed up the window shade, and glanced around wondering if passengers knew that I was defying the rules of late night–early morning airplane behavior. A man snoring next to me would have felt irritated by the gentle but subtle illumination upon his face, but by this point I did not care.

This was a moment so deserving of attention- no one was going to stop me. We were above the clouds and in the distance, I saw plumes of horses and even castles. Castles in the sky!

No one else will probably understand the joy I felt at that moment. From a starting point of uncertainty to a realization that “hey, it’s pretty wonderful out there” was delightful. But it took a mindset, to push the hand, that opened the shade, that was hiding the splendor of goodness beyond.

How does this relate to FNF? I would say, were still at that uncertain beginning stage at times. What will turn of this? Is this worth it? Why bother doing this?

But the mind says “what about that one girl who just wants out?”

Then, it pushes the hand, that types this entry, that encourages people, who walk out in faith, and liberates her.
